SoftNet Communications, Inc. was established in 1984 as a Networking and Communication company with emphasis Local (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). That was the infancy period for LANs and with no established standard and lots of experimentations. During that early period SoftNet was involved in implementation of LANs with varied architectures. We also developed and marketed our own LAN hardware based on a proprietary protocol until such time when established protocols and standards emerged.

SoftNet's early interest in LANs and Standards stemmed from the belief that "Communication is the Key" in any successful integartion of PCs into the business environment. That statement is more true now than ever before with the emergence of the World Wide Web as the focal point of the information revolution.

Today, SoftNet implements LANs and WANs for small to medium size businesses. We also manufacture, install and maintain our own branded equipment from single workstations to complex Server Farms with secure connections from anywhere around the world.
